This oldschool sim from MicroProse should not really need an introduction. There are countless pages written about it, and people praising it all over the internet. And rightly so, because this game was the first to really introduce the elusive F-117A Stealth Fighter to the gaming public. The game itself is more of a graphical and feature overhaul of F-19 Stealth Fighter, adding both the looks and features of the real Nighthawk to replace those of the fictional F-19, as well as more scenarios. Although you can still choose to play more or less with the old stealth and weapons model if you so wish to. Anyway, there was not much lacking in terms of polish when this was released, although over the years I really longed for a bit more realism, like darker nights, a better layout for the cockpit panel, etc. These feeling were also shared by many others online, so I decided to make it happen.

The result is a modification that replaces the default cockpit panel with a new custom drawn one, and improves the overall color palettes used by the game. This creates a completely new look for the outside view during dawn, day, dusk and night, as well as adding dim lighting to the panel in the dark hours. New symbology in the MFD tactical maps is also added. In the desert scenarios the night time will not be completely dark, due to some quirks of the palette system used there. But the European and North Cape scenarios and certain other world areas will. These are now also changed to resemble winter time from the Amiga version, as requested by my friends in the excellent retro DOS game community.
